Scripture Union Daily Guide 25th July 2026 Outline
David has done it all. We have observed his journey. He was a soldier, shepherd, king, singer and a sinner. As he nears the end of his life, he sang of the God who saves (2 Samuel 22:1-20), who sustains (2 Samuel 22:21-30), who strengthens (vs.31-49) and who secures (2 Samuel 22:50-51). Many believers have David experiences which serve as encouragement to us that God is faithful in fulfilling His promises. “Many indeed are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalms 34:19).
God protected David (2 Samuel 22:31-34), prepared (2 Samuel 22:35-37), and promoted him (2 Samuel 22:38-49). God taught him the art of war and the tactics necessary for victory. God took him from obscurity and promoted him over Israel and above his opponents. He enjoyed all we longed for in our marriages, calling, parenting, etc. The same God has promised to strengthen us (John 10:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:57). Look back to where you were when He found and saved you (v.50). No matter what the day may bring, know that you are safe in God’s hand (2 Samuel 22:51).
